to play the downloadable version, you will have to go to https://scratch.mit.edu and then create a project, then go to file once you're at the editor and click "load from computer" and then select the SB3 and click open, or you could just play the project on the page, playing directly from the URL is recommended for platforms like mac, linux, etc.
